Since 1958, Scholarship America®
has distributed more than $1 billion dollars to nearly one million students. Dollars for Scholars® a program of Scholarship America® is a national network of over 1,218 grassroots community-based, volunteer-driven scholarship foundations throughout the United States. In 2005, Dollars for Scholars chapters, located in 40 states plus the District of Columbia, raised more than $54.2 million, awarded over $28.8 million in scholarships to 35,342 students, and invested the remainder primarily in endowment funds for future scholarships.
In 2003, over 400,000 qualified high-school graduates were not able to afford a four-year college education. Over the next decade, 4.4 million qualified students won't be able to afford a four-year college. Two million won't be able to afford to go to any college. Now, you can make a difference to ensure that students in our community break this trend!

Greater New York Chinese Community Dollars
for Scholars |
Greater New York Chinese Community Dollars for Scholars is the first chapter established to benefit students of Chinese descent. Established in October of 2004, the goal of the Greater NY Chinese Community DFS is to mobilize community-based fundraising for scholarships awarded to local students. As a next step, the chapter can offer a variety of academic support programs connecting students and parents with resources in the community -- from mentoring and tutoring programs to finding financial aid to securing grants and loans. We need to unite the community and everyone’s participation to be able to help the most students and families.
All officers and board members of the Greater NY Chinese Community DFS participate on a volunteer basis and oversee the scholarship awards to ensure that funds are directed to qualified applicants in the local community. The Greater NY Chinese Community DFS is a 501c3 organization. All contributions are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law. All proceeds will be used towards scholarships for qualified students.
