Scholarship Details:
Scholarships are for high school students entering
college for the 2008-2009 academic year.
Award Amount:
I.
Three Four-Years Scholarships for $1,000 per year.
(Total is $4000)
II. Two
Two-Years New Immigrant Scholarships for $1,000 per
year. (Total is $2000)
Distribution Method: A check will be sent directly
to the college or university to assist the award
recipient with enrollment expenses.
Scholarship focus: Merit
(Academic) and Need-Based Scholarship

Selection Criteria To Be Considered:

Must be a
full-time student.

Priority is given to those with financial need.

Financial data must be submitted as
evidence of financial need.

Evidence of
studentˇ¦s outstanding academic performance.
Must have a 3.5 or higher GPA.

Extracurricular/Community Service: Should have
participated in school clubs or community.

Leadership: Show
leadership either in their extra curricular
activities or in winning awards.

One letter of recommendation:
Must provide letter of recommendation from
someone who has personal knowledge of the
student such as a teacher or student advisor.

An essay or a
personal statement that may discuss the
applicantˇ¦s interest or reasons for applying
this scholarship.

Applicant
must submit a copy of their
parent/guardianˇ¦s IRS income tax return for
past two years.

Student Aid Report section of FAFSA (a
summary of what the FAFSA determines--family
income, # of people in family and the
estimated family contribution.)

If the
applicant does not have the above-mentioned
tax forms, he/she needs to provide any
supplement supporting document(s)
demonstrating financial need.

SAT I score sheet
(TOEFL score may also be submitted in addition
to SAT score or if no SAT score is available)

statement (12 point font and no more than 3
pages in length)
